Summer 2025 Middle School Reading Competitions & Programs – Houston
At Horizon Leadership Academy, we believe that summer is a valuable opportunity for students to continue growing as readers and thinkers.
To support our middle schoolers, we’ve compiled a list of free or low-cost reading programs and competitions available in Houston during Summer 2025. These activities are designed to spark creativity, promote literacy, and keep students connected to their learning while having fun. Whether through book challenges, writing contests, or enrichment workshops, students can earn rewards, showcase their talents, and explore new ideas—all while building a stronger connection to the joy of reading.
