The application window for the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program is officially open for the 2026–27 school year.
Application Deadline
March 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program empowers Texas parents with the funding and flexibility to choose the best educational setting for their children. If accepted, families can use these funds for approved education-related expenses, including private school tuition and fees.
Important Note: This is not a first-come, first-served program. You can submit your application at any time before the March 17 deadline without affecting your child’s chances of receiving funding.
Funding Amounts (2026–27)
Private School Students: ~$10,474
Students with Disabilities: Up to $30,000 (must have an IEP or approved disability certification).
Who is Eligible?
To apply, you must be a Texas resident and your child must be eligible to attend a Texas public school, open-enrollment charter school, or pre-K/kindergarten program.
Applications are processed through the official TEFA portal managed by Odyssey.
1. Create an Account: Visit the TEFA website to create your parent account.
2. Submit Application: Complete your profile and add your student's information.
3. Verify: Upload necessary identification and verification documents. First page of your 1040 tax return form will be enough.
4. Select School: Once ready, you will be able to indicate our school as your preferred choice.
