Application Steps

Step 1 — Enrollment Application (New Students Only)



New students must submit an Enrollment Application through Mersys Campus.
A $100 registration fee is required. This fee covers administrative processing and follow-up on the application.

Early Tuition Discount — $750

Families who complete all required enrollment steps by January 10, 2026 receive a $750 tuition discount across all grade levels.

Interview and Assessment

Pre-K and Kindergarten

Schedule a tour.
Students entering Grade K will be required to provide Preschool progress reports/behavior reports (if applicable).
Following the application form and tour, we will invite your child to participate in a play date. The playdate and tour are to confirm that the school is a good match for each student. We will be in touch with you regarding your playdate.
A spot can only be reserved by visiting the school, participating in a play date, and from that play date, the school will evaluate whether the school and child are a good match.

Students must be 4 years old to enter our Pre-K class. All children, starting from Preschool, are required to be toilet-trained.

Students should be 5 years old to enter the Kindergarten class. On rare occasions, a student who is not yet 5 years old is accepted for early entrance to Kindergarten. Please be aware that early entrance students are expected to be performing at the top of the Kindergarten class, both in academics and behavior.

Grades 1-11

Schedule a tour.
Schedule a MAP test date via the applicant checklist (or submit fall 24/winter 25 MAP test scores from current school)
Students entering Grades 1-12 will be required to provide behavior reports from the previous 2 years.
Submit school records using the transcript request form - Full transcript or 2 years of grade reports, attendance and discipline reports, TAG, IEP, ESOL and 504 documents if applicable.
Submit an additional standardized test taken in the last 2 years such as TSI, PSAT, ACT, SAT, etc. if applicable.
Submit any documentation related to ESL, ELL, or any other condition under which the student may need extra accommodation even if the student was officially removed from ESL or any other program.(if applicable).
Contact the office directly if HLA will be the first school attending in the USA.

Step 2 — Financial Aid Application (New & All Returning Students)



All families who are requesting financial aid must complete the Financial Aid Application. In addition, all returning students must complete this form to confirm their intention to return for the 2026-2027 school year.

This step applies to:

New applicants
Returning HLA students

New Students paying full tuition do not need to submit this form.

Step 3 — TEFA Application (Required for All Financial Aid Applicants)



All families applying for financial aid must also apply for TEFA when the state opens the application window.
HLA will notify families as soon as TEFA opens and provide full instructions.

TEFA-approved families may receive up to $12,000 in tuition vouchers, which can be applied directly toward HLA tuition.

Step 4 — Admission Decision & Tuition Agreement



Once applications are reviewed, families will receive:

Admission decision
Tuition Agreement with financial aid amounts included (if applicable)

Parents must review and approve the Tuition Agreement to secure their child’s seat.

Step 5 — Arrange First Payment with Business Office



The Business Office will guide families through the next steps:

Creating a Student Payment Account, and
Setting Payment Plans

🟦 Returning Students — Re-Enrollment Commitment Deadline

Deadline: January 10, 2026

Returning students must submit the Financial Aid Application (which also serves as their Re-enrollment Commitment Form).

Benefits for returning families who complete by January 10:

No registration fee
Guaranteed seat* for next school year
Eligibility for the $750 early tuition discount

*Guaranteed placement applies unless there are significant academic or disciplinary concerns.

Returning students who submit after January 10 will be evaluated alongside new applicants and may lose priority placement.
